The Jews had light and gladness and joy and honor. Esther 8:16 – Why? Why were the Jews so glad, joyous, and filled with honor and light? Because they just received news that instead of a day coming soon when they would all be executed, they were allowed to defend themselves and protect their families so they could live instead. There was hope to their future finally again, so of course there was joy and gladness in their lives! So now we know why they were joyous and glad, but how did this come about? Because someone spoke up. Someone, by the name of Esther, spoke to the king and pleaded on behalf of her people that their future would be different. In order for the people around us in our world who do not yet know Jesus to have joy and gladness and light and honor in their lives like we see in this passage, someone must step up and speak just like Esther did in this passage. If you want to see joy in our world, we must speak about Jesus. If you want to see gladness in our world, we must speak about Jesus. If you want to see honor and light being shown throughout our world, then Jesus must be shared with the world. Like Esther, even when it’s difficult and scary to speak up, and even even if it’s emotion filled to speak up, do so. Light, gladness, joy, and honor are available to be seen throughout our world when we stand up and speak out about the name of Jesus. Let’s see our world change because we share the gospel!
