Esther 7 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO

Then King Ahasuerus said to Queen Esther, “Who is he, and where is he, who has dared to do this?” Esther 7:5 – This is certainly a story in which I wish security cameras were invented by this time to be able to see how Haman reacted in this moment! Here he is enjoying a beautiful feast with the king and queen, thinking everything in life couldn’t get any better than it was in that moment. Then out of nowhere, the queen drops a bomb on the whole situation and points him out as the enemy to her people and the one threatening her life. His face must have went from pure joy to pure terror in an instant! What we also see is a change in the face of the king. Little did he know of the mistake that he had made that was threatening his queen‘s life. That’s why we see in this moment him react so surprisingly when Esther reveals the plot that Haman had made. The king was moving in a direction in life without any awareness of the mistake that he made or the consequences that it was about to bring. Such is the life for the people around us that don’t know Jesus. They’re moving through their life without any knowledge of the mistake that they’ve made nor the consequences that are about to hit their life. Our role is to be like Esther in the story by bringing awareness to what’s about to come from the mistakes that people have made. Not to condemn people, but just to help people be aware of what’s ahead of them,m and the mistakes that they have made in their lives that have brought those consequences about. The hopes are that people’s reaction will be that of the king’s surprise and wanting to make right the wrongs that he has done. No that will not always be the case when we share the gospel of the people. Some will hear and some will choose not to make any sort of changes in their lives, but they need to know the truth regardless. Be the person in other people‘s lives who is willing to step up, say the hard thing, and point them to the Jesus that they need to save them from their sin. I love you, but Jesus loves you more. – Mac – Daily DEVO 3606

Question To Ponder: Why might someone be unwilling to point out someone else’s wrong?
