And the king said to her, “What is it, Queen Esther? What is your request? It shall be given you, even to the half of my kingdom.” Esther 5:3 – What boldness do we see from Esther here in this chapter! Willing to come uninvited before the king of the world power of the day. Something that we learn from last chapter could have been an immediate death sentence if the whim of the king was against you that day. Yet Esther, knowing it was the holy and right thing to do, came before the king to begin the process of standing up for her people. Notice though the posture of the king when he saw Esther. Not frustrated, not angry, not throwing spears at her…he was pleased to see her. This is how a pagan king handled the approaching of someone that he had an infatuation with. I want us then to dwell on how the Most High King will handle His beloved children approaching Him. Here this pagan king said anything would be given to Esther even to half of all he had. Now ponder on what the Lord would say to you, His child who He died on the cross for to spend eternity with. Today know Jesus longs for you to approach Him. He doesn’t want fear in your heart or worry He is going to shut you down. His desire is for you to be alongside Him and His plans are to provide for His children’s needs. Have no fear then to come before the throne of your God. He loves you, He welcomes you, and His heart is for your good. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3604
