Ezekiel 42 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO

When the priests enter the Holy Place, they shall not go out of it into the outer court without laying there the garments in which they minister, for these are holy. They shall put on other garments before they go near to that which is for the people. Ezekiel 42:14 – Truly the Lord thought of all the aspects needed when creating the design plan for this temple. One aspect that could have been forgotten about, but was on the Lord’s mind, was a place for the priests to change clothes. When working within the temple, the priest had special garments to wear that were anointed and acceptable before the presence of the Lord. Yet when the priests were done with their shift of service, those priestly garments were not meant to be worn outside of the temple area so they would need to change back into their normal clothes. This outfit change I feel describes so much of the battle we as believers are in on a daily basis. We seek to be in our “holy” clothes all the time, but find ourselves back in our “worldly” clothes more often than we want to admit. For those in this struggle, remember a couple things. First, if you’ve turned to Jesus for forgiveness, you are holy and righteous, clothed with holy garments for eternity. Second, one day, we will be out of this world and in the presence of the Lord, wearing those holy garments before Him for eternity. No more to be in this back-and-forth struggle of feeling like we’re wearing those filthy rags again, but a forever purity in the presence of God. In Christ you are made clean and are a part of the holy priesthood, allowed to come into the most holy of holies. Not by any work of ours, but by the saving work of Jesus Christ. Praise Jesus we have been washed clean, clothed in His righteousness, and welcomed into the presence of the Lord. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3593

Question To Ponder: Why should we marvel that we are welcomed into God’s presence?
