For behold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown. Ezekiel 36:9 – Fellow believer, wherever you are at in your walk with the Lord, let the words of the verse speak over you. God is for you. God has turned His eyes towards you. What glorious messages are those two short phrases! The God who has the power to breathe our universe into existence is for you and has chosen to look upon your life with love and compassion. Notice though there is a third phrase within our sentence. It’s similarly powerful and similarly good, but it also speaks a truth we must embrace. God is going to “till” us. Now I may live in Kansas, but I’m no farmer. Even so, I do understand the work tilling a garden takes, and the end result is a section of dirt that was once hardened turned loose and workable. This is what the Lord is going to do in your life, He is going to till up your hardened heart so it can be workable for His glories. You will be tilled so you can grow much fruit for Him. So yes, God is for you and God has turned His attention to you, which is wonderful, but also remember what that means. That means you are the object of His work and often God’s work within our life isn’t trial-less. The harder we’ve allowed our hearts to come and the more weeds we’ve allowed into our life, the more work of tilling it will require, but because the Lord loves you He’ll put in the work. So remember when you feel the eye of the Lord on you and His till hitting your life, it’s out of a deep love for you that He does what He does so you can be fertile ground for Him.
