Ezekiel 10 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO

And the glory of the Lord went up from the cherub to the threshold of the house, and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was filled with the brightness of the glory of the Lord Ezekiel 10:4 – I’ve been writing devotions for awhile, and I’m now on my third time through the entire Bible writing a devotion over every chapter. That being the case, this is my third time writing a devotion over Ezekiel 10, and while I try to change up the focus of the devotion if I can, in chapters likes this one we can’t help but write again about the central theme of the chapter. God’s glory was leaving the temple. While maybe difficult for us to notice due to all the other imagery given to us, through this chapter we see God’s glory step by step leaving the temple. He leaves the holy of holies to go to the threshold of the temple, then in verse 18 He leaves the temple altogether. The glory of God departed from the temple of God; that’s a big deal. Why? Because of the sin of the people and the Lord was about to bring judgement on that sin. God’s temple had been profaned and His people had been tainted by the sin of idolatry. We are to see here the posture God takes towards sin. In our story, know God isn’t going to depart from our life because of our sin for our sin was forgiven by Jesus’ sacrifice. We though can profane God’s new temple with our sin just like the Israelites did with the old temple. Our bodies are the new temple of God for the Holy Spirit resides within every believer. If then you are a believer, is sin being rejected or embraced? Let’s be good stewards of the temple of the Lord by refusing to allow sin to abide where the Holy Spirit resides. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3563

Question To Ponder: Do you give much thought to the fact that your body is the temple of the Lord?
