Psalm 94 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO

He will bring back on them their iniquity and wipe them out for their wickedness; the Lord our God will wipe them out. ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭94‬:‭23‬ ‭- Our psalmist writes of those who are carrying out despicable acts of wickedness. Things like murdering defenseless widows and slaughtering the fatherless. After verses of crying out for God to stand up against such acts of evil, we see our psalmist conclude with a verse of justice. The very weight they brought upon others was to come on them and God would wipe them out. Today though instead of connecting this passage to the human enemies of our day, I want to connect it with the real enemies scripture says is in our story. The enemies of darkness in the spiritual realm such as demons and even the devil himself. These evil spiritual forces are causing havoc across our world. They are behind the atrocities of war. They are the fuel behind violent crimes. They are the ones spinning the lies that drag people into the darkest of pits mentally. Evil doesn’t cut it to describe the darkness of their works. Yet take this moment to apply our verse to such wicked enemies. God will wipe them out. The havoc they cause God will be brought back on their heads. Their story ends with a clean wiping out of their existence. Evil’s reign will one day be done and all the horrors attached to the works of our enemy will be over. This is the beautiful promise of scripture, yet when today isn’t yet that day, it’s hard to understand God’s reasoning if for waiting so long. My encouragement to you in that wondering is stay focused on the future day of evil’s reckoning. While it may not be today, one day it will end and the devil and every other worthless demon will be wiped out for good. Hallelujah we serve a God powerful enough for such a task! I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3508

Question To Ponder: How does it feel knowing one day all evil will end and all those who cause evil will be brought to justice?
