The earth has yielded its increase; God, our God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; let all the ends of the earth fear him! Psalm 67:6-7 – This short psalm does wonders to help us know our purpose in life and how to find the blessings God gives. The image we’re given in our verses above is God blessing His people, so much so that even the earth itself is feeling the blessing. Yet where did our psalm start? We have God being gracious and choosing to bless His people. Those blessed people then go out and make the Lord known among the peoples and nations. All nations then will praise the Lord and sing for joy, and as a result of God’s people doing the work of sharing His wonders with the nations, God promises to bless them again. And the cycle restarts. God blesses, we share His blessings, God blesses us again, we share again, as so on… This is why you’re alive today, and this may be also why you’re feeling empty today. You’re alive to share the blessings you have of God. Maybe you have no financial blessings to share, but you do have knowledge of Him you can share with someone. As to why you may be feeling empty, have you broken this God designed cycle? Has God blessed, but instead of sharing the blessing you kept it all for yourself? God then hasn’t been able to refresh with blessing, making it of no surprise you feel drained and distant from the Lord. Go out somehow today and share with someone about the Lord. Tell them how much Jesus loves them or help someone know today they aren’t invisible to you nor God. Your purpose and blessing are found in this cycle seen in this psalm. Receive what God gives, share it, receive again, and share again. Simple, but this is what will change the world. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3480
