Deuteronomy 33 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO

This is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the people of Israel before his death. Deuteronomy 33:1 – After decades of exhausting service to the Lord, Moses is about to die. The next chapter is the last chapter in the book and it tells us of Moses’ death, but here in chapter 33 we see Moses’ last words to the people. While simple, verse one tells us a couple powerful truths about Moses. First, God allowed Moses to be penned down in holy scripture with the label of “The man of God.” If you were to die today, what would be the label placed over your life to sum it up? Would it be something affiliated with your walk with God or something more like, “Great businessman” or “talented athlete” or “great cook.” Second truth we see about Moses was he was willing to use his last breaths to bless the people of Israel. He took time to speak about each tribe and speak God’s blessings over them. If you were to die now, what would your words have been to those in your life? Would it have been words of love, peace, and pointing to Jesus…or words that you’d regret being your last words to them? Moses lived and spoke in ways that made it so if he were to die that day, what was said of him would be that he was a man of God who spoke blessing over God’s people. Reflect on your story to see how close this would be true in your life? What would people say of you after you passed? Are you content with your words being your last words with people and did they at all point anyone to Jesus? Tomorrow is not guaranteed, so make the most of today for the Lord. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3471

Question To Ponder: Why does it matter that we care how we lived in this life after we pass on?
