Deuteronomy 32 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO

They sacrificed to demons that were not God, to gods they had never known, to new gods that had come recently, whom your fathers had never dreaded. Deuteronomy 32:17 – In this song given to the people of Israel by Moses, he lays out plainly how the nation was to turn from the Lord. They were going to leave the worship of the God who saved them to worship the idols of other nations. We learn though something powerful about these idols in our verse today. These things weren’t just statues of wood, stone, or precious metals, but behind such craftsmanship was demonic forces at play. Not other or new gods, but demons masquerading as deities to lure Israel away from the worship of the only true God. When they sacrificed, it was to demons. When they sung their praises, it was to demons. All the while God, the true God, was being rejected. In our life we too can see people of this world still worshipping idols of wood, stone, and precious metals. Maybe not in your neighborhood, but travel not that far and look beyond your typical paths and you will find this still happens all over our world today. And see the truth about such worship that our verse reminds us of today. Such people are worshipping demons. These gods of these different religions are no gods, but demons masquerading as deities to still lure people away from the only true God that can save people. With billions still in our world that don’t know Jesus and many who are deceived by demonic forces, lean in to reveal the truth behind this satanic masquerade. Go beyond your normal paths, speak with those you don’t normally speak with, discover what they declare as their god and help them see the truth of Jesus if their god is anything but Jesus. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3470

Question To Ponder: How far would you need to go to find someone who worships an idol?
