Deuteronomy 34 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO

So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord, and he buried him in the valley in the land of Moab opposite Beth-peor; but no one knows the place of his burial to this day. Deuteronomy 34:5-6 – The great prophet and leader of God’s people Moses died. Take note of how scripture speaks of his passing for there are some unique aspects to it. While 120, scripture says Moses was still full of life due to God’s power, enough to climb this mountain, yet to fulfill God’s word he still passes. “He” buried Moses, giving the impression that God Himself buried Moses. While we aren’t 100% certain that’s what happened, scripture seems to be written to point to that being the case for no one knew the place of Moses’ burial. Fast-forwarding to Jude 9 we learn that Michael the archangel and satan disputed over the body of Moses. Why? It’s unclear, but likely satan wanted to use the body of Moses to lead God’s people astray somehow. Why bring all these unique aspects up about the death of Moses? It challenges us to think about how God uniquely provides for those who are uniquely faithful to Him. This chapter clearly shows that Moses had a faithfulness to God that was unlike others in his day and for days to come, and in connection with that we see such a unique handling of Moses’ last days by the Lord as well. Am I saying that if you be super faithful God will do these things for you that He did for Moses? No. Am I saying though that a uniquely faithful life will be marked by unique blessings? I believe so. God longs to bless His faithful children and the testimony of scripture proves this. As Moses discovered, see for yourself how God uniquely blesses those who choose to follow Him how He calls them to. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3472

Question To Ponder: What may be a blessing one would see in their life as a result of obedience that one may not see if their life isn’t following God properly?
