Go up to the top of Pisgah and lift up your eyes westward and northward and southward and eastward, and look at it with your eyes, for you shall not go over this Jordan. But charge Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he shall go over at the head of this people, and he shall put them in possession of the land that you shall see. Deuteronomy 3:27-28 - Take in this moment for Moses. For the last 40 years you have been giving your everything to lead a people to their blessing that has mostly just caused them to accuse you of leading them to their death. You finally arrive at the border of the blessing, yet instead of stepping into it, God has a different plan. He leads you up a mountain so you can look over the land of blessing, but says you can enter it. Instead encourage someone else to take your place to lead the people into the blessing while you remain outside of it. Now we know this was because of Moses’ sinful actions in is past, but regardless that would be a difficult moment and message to take in. Seeing the blessing, but instead of stepping into it you give it to someone else. Sometimes God’s plan for our story is to allow the blessing we’ve been praying for to go to someone else. We step back so they can get the promotion. We be the wingman so they can get the date. We sacrifice so they can step into the blessing. If this set up doesn’t seem fair, remember if we lean into it we only begin to live more like Jesus . To follow the Father’s will Jesus willing stepped into sacrifice so we could have the blessing. He took the death so we could have the life. If then the Lord’s plan for your story is a seeing the blessing from afar while supporting someone else to step into it instead of you, trust His plan is right and is one He too is familiar with. Have confidence that if the Lord’s plan is not yet for step, He will bless that faithfulness of following His difficult lead. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3442
