And when they could not find them, they dragged Jason and some of the brothers before the city authorities, shouting, “These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also…” Acts 17:6 – Context if you haven’t read the chapter yet. Paul and Silas are doing their thing of preaching the gospel when a mob of jealous Jews seek to end them. What was the accusations they claimed Paul and Silas were guilty of? Acting against the Roman rules and proclaiming a new king other than Caesar. How they phrased it in our verse is beautiful, these men have turned the world upside down! Amen and praise the Lord they did so! For the world was not right side up to begin with. It was flipped all around due to sin. Yet here are men of God, proclaiming the gospel, and yes, turning the world upside down yet in doing so turning it finally right side up to how it was designed to be! Today, turn someone’s world upside down. If they are flipped around due to a lack of joy, grief, despair, addiction, or some other reason, help them see what Jesus can do in their life. In doing so you’ll be doing exactly that the apostles were doing in our chapter, turning people’s world upside down. Turning their life from despair to joy. Turning their life from depression to wonder. For at the end of the day, would you rather it be said of you that you left the world exactly as it was or you helped turn this world upside down from where it was to properly postured to see Jesus? I know my answer! I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3625
