…they learned of it and fled to Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to the surrounding country, and there they continued to preach the gospel. Acts 14:6-7 – When you study the book of Acts and the letters of Paul you know he faced his share of persecution. In our chapter we see repeated examples of the persecution Paul encounterd. He had people disagreeing with him, people trying to kill him, even people who would travel long distances just to get others worked up over Paul. Paul though endured, and as we see in these verses “continued to preach the gospel.” For us today that’s going to be the heart of our devotion…keep going. I know living out our faith for Christ has its challenges. People don’t alway accept that and it’s not the path to smooth existence in this life, but keep going. Keep praying, keep being in the word, keep having conversations with others about Jesus. Keep going and don’t hold back. See how in the midst of trials, when the apostles kept going the church kept growing. If our plan is to live faithfully when the persecution is gone, then we’ll never live faithfully. See how the Lord provided for Paul and see how Paul kept going. God loves you too, God is one you can trust, and when we keep going He’ll keep using us. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3622
Question To Ponder: What is a reasoning someone may give to not keep going for their faith?
