Psalm 104 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO

May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in his works…Psalm‬ ‭104‬:‭31‬ ‭- Our psalm does a beautiful job of opening our eyes to the extent of work that the Lord pours into creation. He’s over the pathways of every stream, every branch for every bird is prepared by Him, every blade of grass is grown by Him, even to the rhythms of day and night are orchestrated by Him alone. He is in all, over all, and if He held back His hand all creation would die. And our psalmist then says something unique in our verse, that his desire was the Lord to rejoice in His works. That in the ways He pours into creation that He would find pleasure in the result of its beauty. Building off that idea, I hope beyond just rejoicing in the works of creation, that He also rejoices in the works He is doing within us. For His works within us is greater than anything done for the sparrows or lilies. What though would be a reason He may not be able to rejoice in the works done within us? When we don’t live within that work. For the work of forgiving all our sin is wonderful, yet us choosing to still live in sin after His saving doesn’t give Him pleasure. The work of preparing a heavenly home for us is priceless, yet when we live in such a way that never thinks about it nor prepares for it, how would that be a reason for Him to rejoice? Regardless of how we handle the work He does, His works are still wonderful. Let’s seek to give the Lord something to rejoice in when He looks upon us. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3518
