Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at his holy mountain; for the Lord our God is holy! Psalm 99:9 – If I were to come to you and tell you, “My cup is blue,” you’d probably not think much of it. Yet what if I came to you a second time saying, “My cup is blue,” then a third time, “My cup is blue.” First of all, you’d likely know what color my cups is, but also you’d see what I deemed the most important because I shared it with you three different times. What then is important to the psalmist as he writes this psalm? What does he say once, then twice, then a third time in just a few verses? That God is holy. This is the message the psalmist wanted you to walk away with after reading this psalm, that God is holy. He is holy in His decisions, meaning no judgement He makes has any wrong in it. He is holy in His love, meaning there is no perversion to the love He shows. He is holy in His actions, meaning there can be found no fault in anything He does. God is holy. How then should we respond to such a holy character being present in our story? As our psalm teaches us to, in worship of the Holy One. To worship at his footstool and to worship at His holy mountain. Today, let me remind you again of a phrase I’ve already said six different times in this devotion…God is holy. Choose then to live in such a way that allows you to have communion with such a Holy God. Throw away sin, let go of the hatreds you’re clinging to, stop the apathetic posture towards reading the Bible or praying. His holiness not only invites our worship but demands it. Let’s then offer our Holy God the worship He deserves by living a life that is seeking to mirror His holiness as best we can. I love you, but Jesus love you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3513
