Psalm 72 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things. Blessed be his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory! Amen and Amen! Psalm 72:18-19 – Our psalm was written by King Solomon, likely writing in such a way to lift high the earthly king of David’s lineage, but also prophetically speaking of the Heavenly King that would one day reign forever on the throne of David. After taking the time to dwell on all the things the Lord as our King does, all Solomon could do was proclaim the Lord’s blessing for all the wonderful things he saw. For the Lord delivered the needy when they called and helped those who had no other helper.  The Lord saw the life of those under oppression as precious and redeemed them. The Lord was the one who brought the downpour of blessing on His people. Such were just the beginning of the wonderful things Solomon saw the Lord bring about, and unable to do anything else, Solomon could only declare God’s blessings like he did in the close of this psalm. Yet maybe you are struggling to proclaim the Lord as blessed like Solmon did for you’re not seeing such “wonderful things.” Praise may be hard for you to give to the Lord right now because instead you’re seeing not such wonderful things coming your way in life. If that’s the space you’re in, I encourage you to not only take time to recount the provisions the Lord has given in your life, but make time to ask that question of other believers in your life. Ask them, “Can you tell me something great God has done in your life?” If you’re willing to ask say a dozen people that question, I believe the fuel to your praise you’re looking for will be given. As Solomon did, you won’t be able to help but give praise to the Lord for the wonderful things you’ve heard Him do. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3485
