Deuteronomy 29 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO

You are standing today, all of you, before the Lord your God: the heads of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, all the men of Israel…Deuteronomy 29:10 – Moses was about to say they are standing there today so they could renew their covenant with God, but what Moses spoke before this verses is powerful. Moses reminded the people what they had seen and went through theses last few decades. They saw what God did in Egypt to rescue Israel. They saw how God had led them daily for forty years in the wilderness. Through it all they had food, water, and their clothes never wore out. Kings and cities fell before them, and they already had a taste of how good this land was to be. After all this, they were still standing that day. If you are still standing today, let’s not forget all that God did for us to keep us strong enough to stand. Look back at all you have gone through in your life. Look back at even what you’ve gone through just this past week. If you are still breathing, able to stand, what a blessing that is. Likely though your story isn’t just standing, but you still have so many other blessings from the Lord as well in your story. The point is that we ought to see how much of a blessing it is that we are still here, after all we’ve gone through, and it’s all because of the Lord we are still standing. He provided for our needs, He protected us when we couldn’t, and He purposed things for our good. Now today we aren’t defeated, crumbled on the ground, covered in shame. That’s not our story. Because of Jesus we are victorious, standing, and walking in freedom. That’s something to be grateful for today. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3467
