Romans 11 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO

For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen. Romans 11:36 – In our chapter Paul speaks about the state of rejection of Jesus of the people of Israel. While certainly some Jews believed (Paul himself being evidence of that), the majority of the nation rejected Jesus as the Messiah. Yet did that current rejection equate forever condemnation for the nation of Israel? Not at all. The opportunity was there for the nation to turn to God and this was in the Lord’s plan, but also the rejection of Isreal was in God’s plan for it opened the doors for the Gentiles to hear the Gospel. Here we see how our verse connecting with the whole idea of this chapter. This plan was from God, He was the One who set up the rejections of Israel and the open door of the Gospel for the Gentiles. This plan came through God, He was the One making the pieces move and orchestrating all the centuries of work. This plan was to God, meaning all this is designed to bring all people to Him. God is the mastermind behind everything. The acceptance of God in some and even the rejection of God in some are all known and worked through God. Yet the heart of God is not condemnation for any, but life to all and all to come to Him. Even when some people reject, like the Jews did in Paul’s day, we see God used that to bring people to Him but also never shut the doors to those who rejected Him but was working to give them more opportunities to accept Him later. See the point of this chapter, that God is behind everything. It came from Him, its happens through Him, and its all is done to bring us to Him. Question To Ponder: How have you seen the rejection of God in someone push someone else towards Jesus?
