To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name. Acts 10:43 – Like most chapters in Acts, this chapter hold some powerful stories within it. We have two different visions from the Lord being spelled out for us and we even get the story of when the Holy Spirit was initially given to the Gentiles, something most all of us should be overjoyed about since we fall into that category! In the mix then of these powerful parts of this chapter lies our verse, a verse that holds the truth of the Gospel that maybe if we are in church too long we can forget the wonder of such truth. We can receive forgiveness of our sin through the name of Jesus. The wrong you thought would condemn your life forever can be forgiven. The dark parts of your life that no one in your story knows about can be fully forgiven. Through Jesus the longing of generations came and through Jesus the greatest need of our day was given to us; we can be forgiven. Certainly be wowed at the vision parts of this chapter, and the amazing part of the Holy Spirit coming like He did, but remember the truth that was spoken in the chapter that transformed human existence. We can be forgiven through Jesus. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3618
Question To Ponder: Why should remembering we are able to be forgiven by Jesus be something we celebrate?
