Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. Luke 21:33 – The office that you have been struggling at for so long will pass away in time. The school pressures that have been laid on you for so many years will pass away. The never-ending worry about finances for your family will pass away. All the ways this sinful world has glorified sin as the climax of this life with pass away. Everything in Heaven and Earth will pass away. Broken relationships, health issues, traumatic seasons, jobs, teams, money, cars, houses…everything in this world will not last but will eventually fade away. Yet there is one thing that will remain for eternity that has been given to us by the Lord, His word. His promises to us will not fade away with time. His truth will not pass away. As we then are assessing what then in this life we ought to invest our everything into, wouldn’t the wisest decision be to invest in something that will not fade away? You can give you whole life to pursuing a career, but in 100 years will it still be a thing? You can give your life to worry. You can give your life to so many things, but how long are these things truly going to last? Instead God has established something for us to give our life over to which is His word. This includes not only the written words of His promises and truth, but the Word, Jesus Christ will never pass away.
