Let me dwell in your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! Psalm 61:4 – In his time of need, David knew where to turn. It was the place David had turned to many times within his life and each time this shelter had never come up short to provide all he needed. Of course we are speaking of the Lord when we speak of the shelter David went to. Where David went to dwell in for safety was the tent of the Lord. Where David took refuge under was under the protective wings of the Lord. While not only was this the right choice for David as someone in trouble, but also the right choice for David as King. As the King turning to the Lord like this showed a couple powerful truths to all those under David. First that earthly leaders find themselves in need too, and second, that the only One great enough to shelter the great is the Lord. Certainly when we turn to the Lord for help we are choosing the right path, yet take time to dwell on the message your turning to the Lord gives to those who look up to you. You are showing them that as special as you may be, that God is more. That as able to provide and handle things as you are, God can even better than you. You are showing them that God is greater than you are and He is the ultimate place to run to in their time of need. Do not be ashamed when you are in struggle, pain, or fear, for know that when in those moments you choose to turn to Jesus the example you’re setting is exactly what the Lord desires from you. Don’t hold back from showing those around you that you understand that as great as you maybe, God is greater and is a shelter for all to come under in their time of need. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3474
