For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell. Colossians 1:19 – The completeness of God is found only in Jesus. Since this is the truth, our role needs to be sharing with the world that a search for God in any other place than in Jesus will be a futile search. Imagine me telling someone that their lost keys are on their dining room table, yet they insist to keep searching. They check the fridge, they check outside around their car, they call all the places they had been at for the last week to see if they had their keys. We would look at them in foolish wonder for they wouldn’t accept the truth that their keys were right on the table. Such is the foolishness of looking for God anywhere but in Jesus. Scripture plainly tells us that God is found in Jesus. God is not found in anything the world tells you to find it in, He is not found in any other religious pathway, and He is not found within ourselves. The fullness and completeness of God is found in Jesus. While you may not be searching for God in some foreign religion, how might you be searching for what God offers in something else other than Jesus? Are you searching for a purpose in your life from a career path? Are you searching for worth from a relationship? Is your identity being shaped by the voices of those around you? Remember the fullness of God, that means everything God is and God does is found in Jesus. However then you are searching, hear the truth…the keys are on the table. You can stop your searching for God, for purpose, for worth, for love, for your identity. All that can be found in Jesus. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3420
