- And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire—and also those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands. And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations!” Revelation 15:2-3 – Those that conquered the beast, image, and number. These are thought to be the survivors, or even martyrs, that refused to take the mark of the beast and refused to worship the antichrist. Through their rejection of him and his ways they prevailed over him. What we see then is these very ones who stood strong and showed there power humbled themselves still before someone. While they didn’t find in the beast anything worth worshiping, they found everything in God. What power and holiness must God have if the ones who refused to worship the beast, even if that meant death, would kneel before God for eternity. Let’s these passages increase our view of God’s power and greatness. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 1583
- And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations! 4 Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.” Revelation 15:3-4 – The seventh seal has been broken, the seventh trumpet has been sounded, and now the final judgement of God will be poured out on the earth by the seven bowls. While this judgement will be complete and terrifying to those on the earth that have still refused to accept Jesus as Lord despite all the ways God has presented His love and grace to them, this time will be a time of praise for the believers in Jesus. Here we have the followers of God that come to faith during the Tribulation, those who are still alive and those who were martyred, lifting loudly their praise to the Lord. Notice though the nature of their worship. While existing in a time of torment for those who follow Jesus, and even many being killed for their faith in Jesus, their worship will still be centered on Jesus and who He is. He is great and amazing, and He does wonderous deeds. Jesus is Lord, just, true, and the King. All will fear Him and give glory to His name. Jesus is holy, and all will worship Him. Yes, they will be going through the worst persecution the Christian faith has ever faced, yet their face will still be upon their Savior. Let us today, in whatever pressures we are faced with, still give glory to God and remember His worthiness to be praised. This life isn’t about us, it’s about Jesus, so even in the storms we can give praise to our God. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2799
