Psalm – Chapter 94

  • If the Lord had not been my help, my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence. When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul. Psalms 94:17-19 – These few verses are so relatable. If it wasn’t for God I wouldn’t be here. When I thought I slipped up so bad everything was going to crumble God’s love helped me up. When my worries overwhelmed me, God cheered me up. Here is the God that people need to see. God is the sovereign ruler of the universe, but He also is deeply invested in your life. He’s there when things get heavy and He remains always. Make sure when you speak of Jesus this part of His character is spoken clearly about. People are seeking someone like this within their story and they need to know that someone is Jesus. • Understand, O dullest of the people! Fools, when will you be wise? He who planted the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see? He who disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke? He who teaches man knowledge— the Lord—knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath. Psalm94:8-11 – Our chapter unpacks how the wicked were doing the very opposite of what God had commanded to do. Rather than caring for the widow, loving the sojourner, and being a father to the fatherless, they were killing them all. All under this belief that, “The Lord does not see.” Our verse today reminds us He does. He sees the injustice taking place in our world. He sees the evil happening. He hears the cries of those being silenced. He knows what’s going on in our life. I’m not too concerned at the moment if the wicked know these truths, eventually they’ll learn that God was aware of all they were doing. I want to make sure you know all this. God does see what’s going on. Whether that’s about the hurt being put on you or the secret hurt you’re causing, know God is aware. If there is a secret sin taking place, bring that to God today who isn’t going to be surprised about it because He was there at the first yes you made to it. If there is a heaviness being placed on you somehow, know God is present and is on the scene for you. God is with us. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2054
