- …if they violate my statutes and do not keep my commandments, then I will punish their transgression with the rod and their iniquity with stripes, but I will not remove from him my steadfast love or be false to my faithfulness. Psalms 89:31-33 – If we all understood the message behind this passage, and actually believed it fully, it would change our walk with God so much. That God takes our sin, our violating his statutes and commands, seriously, but that doesn’t mean He removes His love from us. Yes, God is going to allow us to feel sometimes the results out our bad choices. We’ll feel the “rod” that helps us realize the choices we made weren’t wise, but God never removes His love from us. You will never be able to walk too far away from God where His love can’t reach you. Accept the truth that God remains faithful to us even we weren’t are faithful too Him. His love for you isn’t going anywhere. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 1152
- I will not violate my covenant or alter the word that went forth from my lips. Psalm 89:34 – I’d encourage you today to search on the internet “God’s promises in the Bible.” Most likely many sites will be found through this search, click on a few that look good. Gaze through the lists they give and see all the places in scripture where God has made a promise to His followers. See how the promises are to be with us, to take care of us, to provide for us, to guide us, and to forgive our sins. Now remember the verse we’re writing on today in Psalm 89. God will not violate His covenant with us or change even a single word that went out from His lips towards us. Meaning whatever He said He’ll do. We may have a habit of saying one thing but doing another, God’s habit is saying one thing and doing exactly what He said. Never once in all of scripture has God not fully come through on something He spoke He’d do. Today the promise is you aren’t going to be the first that’s going to happen with. Take hope in knowing God isn’t changing His promises with you. What you see promised in scripture is promised to you. How then will your walk today be different knowing these promises and knowing they are sure in your story? I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2049
