Psalm – Chapter 80

  • Restore us, O God; let your face shine, that we may be saved! Psalms 80:3 – Three times this phrase is said within this one psalm. Another way to read this is “turn us again, O God.” See God has already taken care of them and helped them in the past. He had already shown  that simply by the light of His face could He save them from all their trouble. Yet even with that knowledge they turned away and here they are asking for God to turn them back to Him. This is sadly the cycle we follow to, we see God’s saving power in our life then turn away once again. Here we must remember God’s grace and love, yet not take it for granted. Know that God forgives and restores us after we sin, but seek to let that cycle not be the constant cycle we are in. Remember the goodness and grace of God and let that help you stay turned in the right direction. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 1143
  • Restore us, O Lord God of hosts! Let your face shine, that we may be saved! Psalm 80:19 – How do you need restoring? Maybe it’s a restoring of your mind back to a place of peace. Maybe the restoring you need is health physically so you can serve once again like you once did. Maybe the restoring is a removal of all this anger built up that just won’t go anywhere. The point of restoration is getting the thing being restored back to the original design. Your original design didn’t have things like worry, fear, anger, pride, and pain in it. It was to be fully devoted to the pursuit and purpose of Jesus. Come then to God asking for that restoration. Ask to be brought closer to that original design today. In that asking and seeking to walk in that direction, there we can begin to see God’s face shine on us. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2040
