Psalm – Chapter 76

  • In Judah God is known; his name is great in Israel. Psalms 76:1 – I’m so glad that in Judah at this time God was known. What would happen though if we replaced Judah with a _______ and filled that blank with other places. Would the statement still be true? In “my family” God is known. In “my workplace” God is known. In “my weakness” God is known. Keep filling in the blank and keep seeing if the resulting statement is true. Wherever it’s not true is a mission field for you. Maybe our eyes will be opened to a greater harvest around us than we thought. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 1139
  • In Judah God is known; his name is great in Israel. Psalm 76:1 – This is my second time through writing a devotion over every chapter of the Bible. Last time I was in Psalm 76 was Daily DEVO 1139. I wrote on how we should look at this verse as a guide to where we need to share the Gospel. In ____ God is known; his name is great in ____. Fill in the blank with a place or name of a person. The the statement wouldn’t be true, there’s a mission field. I love that idea, and what hit home today is how we need to be willing to continually ask this question. For example, when I wrote DD1139, I wasn’t at FBC Augusta, I wasn’t in the process of adopting two teenagers, I wasn’t where I’m at today. My mission field has changed. So has yours. As we grow and are moved into different seasons of life we need to be continually filling in those blanks and discovering the new mission fields God has placed in from of us. Where then is a place you can share Jesus now that you weren’t able to year ago? Who is someone you have the sort of relationship with now to share Jesus with that you didn’t six months ago? If I learn anything from some of the things God called me to do this past week it’s that you can never wait to share the gospel with someone. Where’s your mission field? Let’s start the harvest. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2036
