- So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come. Psalms 71:18 – The psalmist understood his purpose. His purpose in life that didn’t lessen just simply because he got older. His purpose was to tell others about God’s might and power. He saw there was a new generation alive and he understood his purpose was to share with them what he knew about God. Hear this today, this means we have a purpose to carry out till the moment we take our last breath and that old age can’t cancel us out from. To tell those who come after us about Jesus and His power over death. Don’t ever then let your enemy convince you that you’re time is finished on being able to do the mission. Speak about, write about, pray about the power of God so that this next generation knows God better than we did. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 1134
- My mouth will tell of your righteous acts, of your deeds of salvation all the day, for their number is past my knowledge. With the mighty deeds of the Lord God I will come; I will remind them of your righteousness, yours alone. Psalm 71:15-16 – How true is that statement that God’s wondrous, righteous deeds are beyond any number we can count or measure. Within just our own story there is a vast number of them and in the entirety of creation, immeasurable. What then are we to do with this truth? Tell people! The psalmist speaks of how as he moves forward in life he’s already planning on telling others about the good God has done in his story. He even will go so far to remind others what God has done in their story to point their eyes to God again. His purpose going forward was to make sure people knew how mighty and good God was. This deeply should our heart moving forward. Remind yourself first daily of how good God has been in our story and how we are where we are at only due to His grace. Remind others daily of the same so their focus can be on Jesus as well. Let’s make this day have a bigger purpose than yesterday. Let’s speak well of the immeasurable deeds of God in our story to everyone we can. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2031
