- May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you! May those who love your salvation say evermore, “God is great!” Psalms 70:4 – Verse 2 says let those who seek my life find shame and confusion, yet here we see the psalmist writing to let those who seek God rejoice and be glad in Him. We must be careful what we are seeking. Hopefully our focus isn’t seeking someone else’s life, but is our focus more on them than God? Maybe our envy is fueled by their life, or maybe our anger is fueled by their success. Either way our focus is on them rather than on God where it needs to be. Let’s shift where our focus is and what we allow to fuel us. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 1133
- Let them be put to shame and confusion who seek my life! Let them be turned back and brought to dishonor who delight in my hurt! Psalm 70:2 – You have someone seeking your life. Yes, of course, Jesus is seeking your life to save and heal, but you also have someone who is seeking your life to destroy and kill. If in that moment a name of a person came up, set that name aside because that’s not who we’re talking about. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that our enemies, the ones who are seeking us like our psalm speaks of, are not flesh and blood people. Our enemies are the evil spiritual forces that are seeking to keep us far from Jesus. Possibly the reality of a spiritual war for your life isn’t something you dwell much on, but today can you please dwell much on it. There are two opposing sides seeking your life, one to save and one to hurt. Pray as David did that the side who is seeking to hurt will be thrown into confusion and not have their victory in your story. Pray this for each person you love today. There is a real battle over the lives of those on earth today between Satan/his demonic forces and God/His Heavenly armies. Be praying that you and your loved ones don’t walk mindlessly into the ambushes of our enemy. Be praying your eyes will be open to the real war happening right now over our lives. Be praying each day the enemy will lose over and over and over again. Be praying Hell loses another one today because they chose to follow Jesus instead. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2030
