- Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. Psalms 68:19 – Have you ever stopped to think about what it means that God is our salvation daily? We understand He is our salvation for eternal life after death, but what about the part of that eternal life that began the moment we accepted God’s gift of grace? We started our eternal life when we said yes to Jesus which means daily we are living in God’s salvation and daily He is holding us up. Our life with God doesn’t start the moment we die, it started the moment we said yes to Jesus. He now is holding us up and holding us together day in and day out. God wanted a life with you that didn’t have to wait to begin till you passed from this one, He is active now in your story. Blessed be the Lord for sure. - Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation. God settles the solitary in a home; he leads out the prisoners to prosperity, but the rebellious dwell in a parched land. Psalm 68:5-6 – For me this has been a passage I continue to dwell on in my whole foster/adoptive journey. That God is a Father to those who don’t have a father in their story. While that is the role God takes on for all, He also calls us to be imitators of Him in Ephesians 5:1. So while He’s being a father, we should be too. While He is being a protector, we should be too. While He is leading those captive into freedom, we should be too. This psalm reminds us of the grandeur of God, and while we should dwell in awe of it, let it also remind you that you’ve been called to be a follower of Jesus. What you see in Jesus is what you should seek to become. No, not meaning becoming the central price of all worship, but as Jesus is serving and loving, so should we. Who then needs a father? Who then needs a protector? Who needs a guide towards freedom? God’s stepping up to do His part, let’s be true followers of Jesus and imitate God like we’re called to. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2028
