- Blessed be God, because he has not rejected my prayer or removed his steadfast love from me! Psalms66:20 – This was true for the writer of this psalm as he looked back on all that he had gone through and it’s true for us as well. I’m not sure how 2019 went for you. Maybe it was a year of success and joy, maybe though it wasn’t. What I do know is that God hasn’t rejected your prayers or removed His steadfast love from you. It was that way all last year and is a promise you can hold tight to for this upcoming new year. God hears what you say to Him and His love will always be with you. Cling to this and let this be your hope during whatever this new year brings you. Happy New Year. Know I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 1129
- Shout for joy to God, all the earth; sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise! Psalm 66:1-2 – This whole psalm had many pieces I needed for my walk with Jesus today, but these first two verses were more of a conviction. Like when was the last time I shouted for God? Or when was the last time my praise could be defined as glorious. I’ve praised God, I’ve spoke well of Him, but I wonder if my praise and words have reached the level of what our psalmist is speaking of. I wonder what holds us back from a full release in worship? Is it our fear of what others will think? Is it because we’re more caught up with the style not being our preference over dwelling on who we’re singing to? What’s keeping our voices a whisper and our praise minimal? My challenge will be for you, this upcoming Sunday, wherever you go to church, when the worship songs are being played…worship God. Yes, the songs may not be your choice, the style may not be your preference, the band may stink, and the singers sing off key. All that may be true for you Sunday at your church, but do you know what else is true? God remains constantly deserving our shouts of glorious praise in every worship setting. So praise God not because some worship leader or song made you feel something, but because God is worthy of glorious praise. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2026
