- From the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy. Psalms 61:2-3 – Take me to a place that I can’t reach on my own. That’s what the psalmist is sharing with God in the midst of his enemies. In God is where we’ll find our peace and safety, but God is that rock that is higher than us. He is that place we can’t reach on our own. You must know that God is aware of this and made a way for us to come to Him to find the peace and safety we need. That way is through Jesus and a relationship with Him. Know today you have a place you can go to find refuge and a God who will help you get there. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 997
- So will I ever sing praises to your name, as I perform my vows day after day. Psalm 61:8 – There’s a couple deep takeaways from this for me. First, day by day, he is choosing to keep his vows to God. Coming to God, worshipping God only, serving God with all his heart was something he did daily. Second, he did this even when we was overwhelmed. We see in verses 1&2 how he was in a season of crying out to God and his heart was faint. Yet, for better or for worse, he kept his vow to God and keep God his only refuge. Which direction do you need to start keeping your vow to God? Do you draw close when everything is good yet when bad happens turn away from Him? Or do you run to Him when life falls apart yet when things are good you forget Him? Is there a daily keeping of your vows of worshipping God when things are good and when things are not so good? I don’t know where you’re at today in life, but I know where you should be going. Whether you’re on a mountain top of blessing or a valley of the shadow of death you should be coming to Jesus and serving Him today. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2021
