- Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Psalms 150:6 – What a great verse to end the year on and begin the next. If your story is anything like mine, 2018 has been a long year and I’m feeling pretty ready for the next to begin. We though must look back over the big picture of last year and see how God has walked with us and loved us. We have come a long way and it’s because of God. That’s why we must remember what this verse is telling us. All the time, everywhere, from everyone God deserves all our breath in praise to Him. This next year can be your year of praise to God. How? Invest time in your relationship with Him and follow His command to deeply love and share His love with everyone around you. If you’ll let me, I’d be happy to walk with you through another year of devotions to help you make this next year exactly that. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 763
- Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Psalm 150:6 – Our breath has a purpose. Today is a big day in the United States as we watch the transition of presidents take place. My encouragement to my fellow followers of Jesus is to use your breath in the way God has designed it to be used. To give Him unending praise. Not to rep some other name. Not to trash some other name. Not to bring down those who see things differently than you. Not to champion your cause that God isn’t championing. Our breath is given to us to be used to share God’s greatness. The people that surround you today will know who you worship by how you use your breath. Use it wisely. - Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! 4 Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! 5 Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Psalm 150:3-5 – When finishing this psalm, and now the book of psalms with this chapter, I find myself reflecting on the state of my heart. All throughout the psalms we see this message of God’s goodness, sovereignty, and ability to provide for His own. We also see the psalmists over and over being caught up in praise of the Lord or choosing to praise the Lord even if their situations in life weren’t ideal. Now all of heaven and earth are to praise the Lord. Praise Him with loudness and praise Him with passion! For if our praise is seeking to mirror Heaven, there is one word we can be certain is not what worship looks like around the throne of God….quiet. How then is your praise being lifted to the Lord? Right now in our country we are seeing a lot of praise to the Lord being given, and a lot of arguments around it too. While it will be impossible for you to check the hearts of every person in our country to determine is their praise is legitimate, it’s very possible to check your own heart. Are you seeking first the kingdom of God? Are you loving the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength? Are you unashamed of the gospel and making disciples of all nations? Is the praise of your lips seeking to match the praise of all of creation around you? If God is worthy of praise to you, praise the Lord. I love you, but Jesus love you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2281
