- These all look to you, to give them their food in due season. Psalm 104:27 – The psalm speaks of all the different creations of earth looking to God for what they need. Whether it be the lions looking for prey, or birds looking for a branch, or even the mountains that need water, all look to God for the satisfaction of their need. Our question then needs to be if we fit into all that? Does the way we search for a satisfying of our needs begin with coming to God and expecting from God? Yes big needs of course, but small ones as well. Or can we find ourself leaning on and expecting from things not godly to find our satisfaction? Whatever then your need, seek God out for the provision of it. Maybe in past times of you trying this the need was met in a way you didn’t plan and that has shaded your confidence in God some. Yet if creation has found a satisfying of their needs in God, maybe we can too. Just understand the provision doesn’t always come the way we expect, but it does come. - From your lofty abode you water the mountains; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your work. Psalm104:13 – This psalm is dedicated to declare the greatness of the Lord. To show how He creates all things and all things are kept by Him. The birds are taken care of, the seasons are taken care of, even the rock badgers are taken care of. The whole earth’s needs are satisfied by the Lord. How about you? Is the Lord taking care of you? Is there any promises God has made to you that He hasn’t been faithful to? Yes He is taken care of us and no promises He has made has been unkept. So why might we sometimes still feel “unsatisfied” in a life where God is supplying everything we need? Possibly because we don’t see our needs like Jesus does. Possibly because we’ve allowed some sin to cloud things. Possibly because we’ve allowed our focus to be on self rather than on Jesus. The reasons could be many, but the truth is God is a steadfast provider for His own. We will never be without what He sees we need. Maybe the change that needs to come isn’t God being a “better provider” but us being more content with the provision God deems as what we need. I know, not the most fun message to hear, but a journey to learn contentment with the provision of the Lord is one that will better your entire life. Find satisfaction in the provision the Lord has chosen to bring at this moment. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2235
