Psalm – Chapter 102

  • Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord: Psalm102:18 – The psalmist sought to record this message so that those who weren’t following after God yet, or those who weren’t even alive yet, would know of the power and goodness of God. We must realize there is a generation of God’s people yet to come. Could be that they are just our future children or grandchildren that haven’t even been born yet. They could be the people that are to soon come to know Jesus but haven’t met Him yet. Either way, how are you today readying yourself to put God’s Word in front of them? In our passage they were choosing to record it so they could read it. For us, are we ready to share our story with them? Are we prepared to share God’s Word with them? Are we ready to help them see Jesus like they need to? We need to keep in mind the health of this next generation of believers can either be damaged or increased by us today. Let’s do everything in our power to make this people to come have a better walk with God that we ever did. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 1330
  • Of old you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away, but you are the same, and your years have no end. The children of your servants shall dwell secure; their offspring shall be established before you. Psalm 102:25-28 – Our God will never fade away or pass out of our story. Even things like the heavens and the earth will pass away someday, but our God will remain. While that’s beautiful to know, what help does this knowledge offer us today? As the final verse says, we can have confidence now knowing the next generations will remain secure because of the Lord. While God’s hand has been with us protecting, blessing, and guiding, we can know it will be the same for our children and their children and their children as well. Since our God has no end He will be with every generation that is to come after us just like He was for us. We can trust God then with our families and our ministries. We won’t always be here to watch over those after us, but the beautiful thing is we don’t have to be. God will stand watch, will protect, will direct, and will offer generations after us His salvation just like He did for us. What a good God we serve!
