Psalm – Chapter 101

  • I will ponder the way that is blameless. Oh when will you come to me? I will walk with integrity of heart within my house Psalms 101:2 – I see the words “I will” coming up ten separate times within this psalm. What that shows me is living the sort of life this psalm depicts is a choice on my part. That me pondering the blameless way, me walking with integrity of heart, me not setting anything worthless before my eyes, or me knowing nothing of evil, isn’t just going to happen. That’s a choice I’m going to have to make daily within my walk with Jesus. That’s a choice you’re going to have to make as well daily. Are we then making that choice to say I will? Maybe yesterday you didn’t, today though is a new day. Let God know we will choose to live for Him today. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 1164
  • Morning by morning I will destroy all the wicked in the land, cutting off all the evildoers from the city of the Lord. Psalm 101:8 – Stepping back into the psalms we have David sharing his intentions when it comes to how he will establish his kingdom. He will set aside every temptation, he’ll distant himself from those choosing a sinful path, and will care for the faithful in the land. In this last verse we see a part of his reign will be to destroy all the wickedness and wicked things he can find in the land. Morning but morning, day by day, he is going to seek out and take out any wickedness that may be growing. Now this is solid advice for any kings out there reading this devotion on how to run your kingdom, yet I highly doubt any kings are reading these. So for us common folks, how does this apply? Morning by morning, each day, be on the look out for our Satan and his wicked schemes are seeking to enter your story. Watch, and when spotted, destroy. Don’t allow the enemy to gain even a foothold within your life. “Destroying” may look like bringing that secret temptation out into the light with an accountability partner or even simply praying to the Lord about it asking Him for help with it. Just don’t become aware of the enemy’s presence and dismiss it as nothing to worry about. Be healthy in your walk by daily cutting any ties with the enemy.
