- But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. Luke10:33 – Just love people. There will be people inside of your life that give you problems, that you don’t agree with, and that are different than you. None of those reasons though are good enough for us to stop demonstrating God love to people. The moment we choose to stop showing love to an individual for whatever reason we think is worthwhile, we stop fulfilling the calling that God gave us. We are called to love God and to love people and when we aren’t loving people we aren’t loving God. So today, whatever excuse or reason you have that you have held onto to stop showing love to somebody, now is your day to drop it. It no longer has a place inside your life and relationship with that person. Begin doing what God called you to do, love people. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 615
- Then turning to the disciples he said privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see! 24 For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.” Luke 10:23-24 – The disciples that Jesus had chosen to follow Him were certainly blessed by what they got to experience with Jesus. So many of the characters in the Old Testament would have loved to witness the things Jesus was doing and to be in the presence of the Savior like the disciples were at this time. What I also hope is seen is how truly blessed we are with what we’ve had the chance to witness and experience with Jesus. No, none of us got to walk around Jerusalem with Jesus like Peter or talk with Him like Matthew did, but don’t forget the blessing we have that even the disciples didn’t have. We have the fullness of the story of Jesus written down for us. We know how the church grew and withstood even the worst of persecution. They never got to see the fall of Rome, but for us Rome is just something in a history book. We have been blessed with so much to see to encourage and enlarge our faith in the Lord. For if the disciples could see what we see, any doubt of things to come would have been dropped by them. Be sure then you are dwelling on all that God has revealed when we are concerned over the things He hasn’t revealed yet. He’s shown Himself to be capable, dependable, trustworthy, and loving for generations and generations. See then what He is showing you and trust Him with the parts you can’t fully see yet.
