Isaiah – Chapter 55

  • Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near… Isaiah 55:6 – This means there will be a time when it’s too late to search for God or call upon Him. That time is when we die without turning to Him or He returns before we turn to Him. Once our life is over is not the time we get to choose God or not, that’s when we see the end result of the choice we made here on earth on whether we’re going to follow God or not. I want to share this to remind you to not wait to choose to follow God. As we read in verse 1 God is freely inviting us to partake in all He is offering us. Find life in Him while you still can. For those of you who have done this, make your life about others finding all this in Jesus before it’s too late for them. Tomorrow is promised, yet we don’t know if we’ll be alive on earth tomorrow or in our afterlife somewhere. Seek the Lord while He may be found and help others do the same. • Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy, Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food. Isaiah 55:1-2 – Alright, what’s the catch? Maybe that’s the question you’re thinking after reading such verses. We are being invited to come and enjoy water, milk, wine, bread, and rich food all without money or price. While those items may not seem that extravagant to us today, this would have been the ingredients to a feast for them, and it was all being given at no cost to them? So again…what’s the catch? How is all this abundance being offered freely to all? Because a Heavenly Father took care of the bill. Like a young child doesn’t even think twice about the cost of the meal on the menu, but chooses and eats freely knowing dad is going to take care of the bill is the posture God is calling us to have. Through Jesus God has made His spiritual table of all He has to offer us free for us to enjoy. Joy, peace, love, strength, patience, kindness, mercy, grace, forgiveness, and life. All in abundance and all at no cost to us, because the cost was taken care of by our Heavenly Father. Let us turn from enjoying the world and enjoy what the Lord provides. Thank you Lord that we have this table of your goodness in front of us today that we can enjoy freely at no cost because you covered the bill for us.
