- Genesis 1 Daily DEVO So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27 – While reading the creation account again, I couldn’t help but see all of it through the lens of the season were in for Easter. We see God creating the heavens, the mountains, the sun, and the animals. Everything in all creation we see around us He formed, but out of all of creation what part of it was He willing to send His Son to earth to die for? You and me. How amazing is that! That out of everything in this beautiful universe God saw us as worth giving up everything for us to be with Him. Allow yourself to enjoy some outdoor time today if you can and when you do, remind yourself that out of all that you see, God saw you and the people around you as worth showing the most incredible love to. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 482
- And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Genesis 1:3 – What God speaks into existence exists. One of the phrases I kept highlighting in this chapter was “and it was so.” God desired something made, He spoke it into existence, and it was so. So in your story have confidence that whatever God has promised to do in your story will be so. The promise of being with you in the battle, the promise of hope when life is hopeless, to be a place of rest, the promise of life eternal. You can trust it will be so. When the questions arise in our thoughts though about if it truly will be so, step outside and look around. If God was able to speak into existence the sun, moon, sky, and stars, He can speak into existence peace, rest, and joy into your story. It will be so. I love you, but Jesus loves you more. – Mac – Daily DEVO 1805
- Genesis 1 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day. Genesis 1:5 – We are invited by scripture into the creation of the world within this first chapter. Day one we see the mass of creation being made. Heaven and earth, light and darkness, day and night. Something that is special to notice is that the light filling the earth and the heavens isn’t coming from the Sun. The Sun will be created on the fourth day. So where is this light coming from? From God Himself. First, He spoke it into being, so it exists. Also our God is the light of this world. We just finished our study of Revelation, and do you remember what is said about the sun, moon, and light within the new Heaven and earth? Revelation 22:5 – “And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.” In the beginning, God was the source of light, and in the end God will be the source of light. And today, He too is the source of light in your story. Wherever then darkness seems to be overtaking your mind and life, know there is where God can bring light and life to. Your traumas of your past, God can bring light to. Your sins that you are utterly ashamed of, God can bring light to. Do you know what then will be the result when God brings His light into your life? Goodness. It will be good. Let us today remember that the powerful, universe creating God that we read about it in scripture is the God that is with us today. The Creator and source of light is here, and He is able to make the darkest seasons of your life bright again and bring light to the darkest of days. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2807
