- After many days you will be mustered. In the latter years you will go against the land that is restored from war, the land whose people were gathered from many peoples upon the mountains of Israel, which had been a continual waste. Its people were brought out from the peoples and now dwell securely, all of them. Ezekiel 38:8 – God knows who our enemies are now, but He also knows who is going to come against us in the future. In the passage we see God revealing this knowledge over Israel saying that He knew Gog was going to come against them in later days but He was already planning to take care of them. Know God has planned to handle our future enemies already. He knows their name, knows their tactics, and He knows their demise. Trust God knows what’s ahead of you and that He is prepared for it. Also that He is preparing you today for the enemies of tomorrow. We don’t need to fear tomorrow when God is in our today. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 1102
- You will come up against my people Israel, like a cloud covering the land. In the latter days I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know me, when through you, O Gog, I vindicate my holiness before their eyes. Ezekiel 38:16 – This was a unique chapter where God was speaking against the nation of Gog, yet not for something they had done, but something He knew they would do. The Lord speaks of the future that He knows will come. Once Israel was settled and safe like God promised would happen, Gog would bring it’s armies against Israel to wipe it out and steal all its spoils. God, knowing the future, shares with Gog that He knows their hearts and knows their future actions, and most importantly, He’s in control. Oh they will come against His people, but God is going to use their actions against them to demonstrate His holiness in the eyes of all. God is going to protect His people and He’s already mapped out the protection He’s going to give against an evil that hasn’t even shown up yet. This is why God needs to be our refuge and strength over all else. He not only sees the enemies we see and is able to provide there, He sees the enemies that haven’t even shown up yet and already has planned how to provide and protect us when they do. God is good. Rest and live in peace today knowing that our God sees what’s coming and has already taken care of the means of our provision. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2379
