- And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand, but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him like a man mortally wounded. Ezekiel 30:24 – God will strengthen and provide for those who are doing His work. He’ll also weaken and remove from those who are not. God also has the right to do both and Him doing so is best for us. Imagine a child constantly hurting themselves with something and a parent stepping in a removing that something. Is that wrong? No, and what God is doing isn’t either. He is opening their eyes to who He is and the destruction that comes with the path they are taking. He is seeking to open our eyes as well to the destruction sinfulness in our life brings. What then is something hurting you that your Heavenly Father is seeking to remove from your story? - I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh shall fall. Then they shall know that I am the Lord, when I put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and he stretches it out against the land of Egypt. Ezekiel 30:25 – God is in control and He is making that clear to all. Egypt, and all their might, is nothing to our God. He is able to crush them and remove their power without a single word. Babylon, a great and powerful nation at that time, was a tool in the hands of God, like we would hold a hammer. These nations that to a single man like Ezekiel would have seemed to have power beyond understanding, God was demonstrating how they were all under His complete control to be used as He wills. As we then look at the things in our story that are “powers beyond understanding,” know those things are under God’s complete control. They are out of our hands but still within His. Take time to remind yourself then of the words of scripture where God speaks on behalf of those that love Him and follow His ways. We have the all-powerful, creator of the universe God with us and fighting for us. Whatever the force against you is or the overwhelming situation you’re facing, trust God is in control.
