- And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. And leaping up, he stood and began to walk, and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God. Acts 3:7-8 – Because of God’s healing this man was able to walk, yet, where was the first place he walked to? Into the temple. See God didn’t just give him healing, God removed the barriers that stood between this man coming and worshipping God. So has God done for you as well. While your story may not be like this man’s, God has healed you spiritually, emotionally, and relationally. He’s healed you with the purpose of given you an open path to coming back to Himself. Don’t take God’s healing for granted, use it to draw even closer to your healer. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 632
- And when Peter saw it he addressed the people: “Men of Israel, why do you wonder at this, or why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or piety we have made him walk? Acts 3:12 – It’s so tempting to take the glory and spotlight, even when you didn’t do the work. Here a lame man has been healed, he is jumping around making a loud commotion, and all eyes go to Peter and John for the work. They were the ones that spoke and they were the ones that were there, but as we see from the Peter’s word, it wasn’t their power or holiness that healed this man. It was all Jesus, and they just got to be the tool Jesus used. As we then serve and give and use our talents for the Lord, let’s seek to have this posture of the Apostles here of reflecting the glory back to God when all eyes looks to us. For without Jesus we wouldn’t be able to do or say or perform or work. If it wasn’t for Him, we would have nothing anyone would look to us in awe for. However we can, let’s give God the praise for the works He does through us. Let’s point people to Him when they are amazed at our life when Jesus is working through us. His name is the only name that needs to be lifted high, let’s do our part by reflecting all glory back to Him. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2529
