Acts – Chapter 2

  • Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” Acts 2:37 – How do you respond to a message that hits deeply? For the crowd that heard Peter’s message the only question they could muster up was “What shall we do?” They realized now their life wasn’t going the direction God desired for it to go. How about you? When you are made aware that your life choices have gotten you somewhere God doesn’t want or your beliefs need changing in a certain topic, does your walls of defense come up or are you open to God working and changing you? When we hear those messages that cut deeply and open our eyes to something that needs changing in our life, be sure to see that change through rather than just discarding the message as of it was just for someone else. • Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.” 37 Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:36-38 – The Gospel is fully shared right here. Peter boldly proclaimed that Jesus is Lord and Christ. He shared with the people listening about how they had sinned and wronged God. The people responded heartbroken over their sin asking what they could do about it. Peter then proclaimed the good news, that they could turn from their sin and find forgiveness in Jesus over their wrongs and will be given the Holy Spirit of the Lord. My prayer today is that you who are reading this know that you too can turn from your sin and find forgiveness in Jesus. Know Jesus loves you, He died to cover your sins, and is alive again to offer you eternal life with Him. All your wrongs can be taken care of and forgiven by Jesus. Please reach out if you would like to know more about how to find such forgiveness and to follow Jesus. If today you are a follower of Jesus, please somehow make your day about the gospel. Pray for the lost in your life, speak about Jesus to someone when you’re running errands, share the truth of the Gospel over social media somehow. Let’s make the gospel the most important thing to us today. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2528
