- Also many of those who were now believers came, confessing and divulging their practices. Acts 19:18 – We see here people who are coming to believe in Jesus opening up and sharing their sinful ways. There wasn’t a desire to continue hiding what they’ve been doing so they could continue sinning even after they choose to believe. They shared and exposed what was hidden. Let’s check our own hearts and see if we are continuing to hide some sins. If so, why? Do we keep them hidden so we can go back to them once in awhile? Make sure that the sin that was a part of your identity before knowing Jesus isn’t a part of your life with Jesus now. Share with Him and even share with other brothers and sisters the things in the dark to settle those things are parts of your past, not your present….and won’t be a part of your future either. - Now some cried out one thing, some another, for the assembly was in confusion, and most of them did not know why they had come together. 33 Some of the crowd prompted Alexander, whom the Jews had put forward. And Alexander, motioning with his hand, wanted to make a defense to the crowd. 34 But when they recognized that he was a Jew, for about two hours they all cried out with one voice, “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!” Acts 19:32-34 – Allow this passage to break your heart. There was an assembly of people together, confused, and shouting their praises to a god that doesn’t even exist. This is our world today. People are confused, not knowing why they are even here. They are championing things in life that don’t even matter and giving their lives over to falsehoods. Know if there isn’t a change in their story of beginning to follow Jesus, then their eternity is Hell. Be willing to look past the shouting and their boldness of their beliefs, and be willing to speak the truth of God’s word over them. They may not want it, they may seek to shout 2 hours straight over you, but the truth they need Jesus it a reality regardless. Choose to love them enough to share the truth. A change is needing to be made in their life and that change is turning to follow Jesus. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2545
