Micah 2 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO

Arise and go, for this is no place to rest, because of uncleanness that destroys with a grievous destruction. If a man should go about and utter wind and lies, saying, “I will preach to you of wine and strong drink,” he would be the preacher for this people! Micah 2:10-11 – Like many of the prophets, Micah had a hard ministry. It wasn’t till after around twenty years, and into the reign of the third King of Judah that Micah spoke to, that the people actually listened to his words. Instead the people and earlier kings listened to the words of false prophets telling them peace and rest was their future. Micah hints at the type of prophecies the other prophets told the people, prophecies of wine and strong drink flowing, ones of rest and no worry of enemies. Messages that said you don’t need to change your ways, the path you’re on is leading towards your enjoyment and blessing, keep on going as you are. Not surprisingly, the people chose to listen to those words over Micah’s words of repenting of their sin and following God. What should we do then in a world where God’s word is being set aside to listen to the messages being blasted loud in culture of “follow your heart,” “do what feels right to you,” “you don’t need to change, you are perfect exactly as you are?” We keep sharing the truth, that’s the only option we’ve been given by the Lord. We likely will run into opposition and we’ll likely not see the masses flock immediately to God’s word, but His words are true and the words that offer life. What is not going to help the world follow Jesus is the ones with the words of the Lord refusing to share it because it’s just too hard. The enemy is going to constantly preach his message, we need then to never rest in our proclaiming of God’s message. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3304

Question To Ponder: Why do you think is so difficult for some to let go of the world’s words and take hold of God’s word?
