Exodus 2 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO

And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. God saw the people of Israel—and God knew. ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭2‬:‭24‬-‭25‬ ‭- In our chapter we get introduced to the man God would use to save His people Israel from their captures, Moses. We see much of the first 80 years of Moses’ life within this single chapter, so you can imagine there is a lot of information shared. Yet where we left off was Moses settling down into a life far from the life he was living. He marries, had a child, and begins a life in Midian. While we get a small snapshot during his time in Egypt that he didn’t agree with how the Egyptians were treating his people and he was willing to do something about it, the image we are getting now of Moses is one who has Egypt, and the slavery of his people, far behind him. While it may have been a concern within Moses’ past, it wasn’t something he was worried about now. Yet, while Moses may have chosen to put the slavery of Israel behind him, we see from our scripture that Lord didn’t. God was still close enough to the Israelites to hear their groaning and cries. God never forgot His promises He made to Israel’s forefathers. God saw the persecution His people were facing and knew exactly what to do. Let us remember that while in this life people may leave us and our struggles behind them, never thinking twice about us again, that this isn’t how the Lord operates. When people leave, He stays. When people drown us out, He listens. When we feel no one sees our pain, He sees. When it seems like know one understands our situation and hurt, God knows. God never leaves, never forsakes, and never leaves us without hope. I love you, but Jesus loves you more than – Mac – Daily DEVO 3146
