Psalm 46 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭46‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭- Take note of the contrast in these verses compared to the first few in the psalm. Trouble was present, the earth was giving way, and the waters roared and foamed with power. Yet when the Lord arrives the picture completely changed. Instead of trouble, relief was being found like when the sun finally rises after a long night. Instead of a raging sea, there is a providing river that is making the whole city of God blessed. How did all this change happen? Because the Lord stepped into the midst of the situation. Know however difficult the situation you are navigating in life is, such change can be found by walking with the Lord. He can take the raging difficulties and the earth-crumbling news, step into all of it with you, and be a source of gladness and provision. God is your help and He is your refuge. He is the river of blessing and He is victor over every enemy of His people. Maybe though all this is things you’ve heard before but never fully experienced yourself. If so, find time today to dwell deeply on the words of this psalm and even bring up your desire to the Lord for this to be true in your life. For the words of this psalm are true, and the Lord wants to be the river of blessing to your story. Finding this out for yourself begins with believing such words are true and depending on Him in the earth-crumbling days. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 3001
