Psalm 20 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO

Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with the saving might of his right hand. Psalm 20:6 – Psalm 20 has a uniqueness to it from many of the other psalms for it was written mostly from the viewpoint of a congregation speaking as one person. The verses speak as if the people of Isreal are praying on behalf of the king to the Lord, praying for his blessing and protection. Then verse six comes in, and David boldly says I know now that the Lord is going to save his anointed. After hearing the prayers of the people on his behalf, David knew he would find the Lord’s salvation in his story. See here the power of prayer. It gave the king the boldness and confidence to ride into battle for he knew the Lord heard the prayers of his people. We too when we pray can instill in others that boldness and confidence to step into whatever the Lord is calling them to do. When a missionary knows they have churches back home daily praying for them, if fuels their boldness. When a child knows their parents are praying for them daily, it offers a peace for them throughout their day. When a preacher knows his church is praying for him, it gives him the very confidence to stand and speak another week. Let us then start praying more for those around us and over us. Pray for your boss, pray for your president, pray for your parents, pray for your kids, pray for your employees, pray for your church, and pray for your pastor. If the God of creation hears and answers prayers, and we are free to come before His throne anytime with any request, wouldn’t it be foolish to waste our time not coming to Him with our requests? I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2975

Question To Ponder: When was a time you knew someone was praying for you?
