Psalm 19 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO

Who can discern his errors? Declare me innocent from hidden faults.Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me! Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression. Psalm 19:12-13 – In today’s psalm we find David reflecting on the majesty and wonder of the Lord. All of the heavens above are declaring the Lord’s glory. Stars, galaxies, and the whole of creation is in constant worship and adoration of the Lord for the Lord and His word is perfect, pure, and right. David, considering such wonderous things, now looks at himself and asked the question, “Who can discern his errors?” This is not meaning who can discern the Lord’s errors, but who can fully know the depth of their own errors, for when we draw near to such a glorious God the depth of our sin is revealed and can be quite overwhelming. When confronted with the reality of his sin, we see David take the proper posture, he pleaded with the Lord to declare him innocent of all his sin, even the ones David was unaware of. He also asked the Lord to keep him from sin so that he could live blameless before the Lord. As we draw near the Lord, know our sin will be brought more and more into the light. When the depth of our sin is beginning to become clear, we could find ourselves hiding like Adam and Eve, or we can come humbly before the Lord and ask for His covering. Know His desire is for us to come out of hiding, reveal the hidden sin, and ask for His forgiveness which He promises to give. When we consider the depth of sin God is willing to cover, our love for the Lord and what we have with Him grows. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2974

Question To Ponder: What is a location you go to that reminds you of the bigness of the Lord?
